Day 1: Delhi – Shimla (350 KM)
Arrive at ISBT Kashmiri gate Delhi for departure by Bus to Shimla. Please note that the departure time for this tour would be (9:00 Pm & 10 PM). It’s an 8 hours overnight journey by A/C Volvo bus.
Day 2: Shimla Local Sightseeing
Arrive at Shimla. We will arrange for a pickup at the hotel. Cool your heals relax a bit. Eat the sumptuous breakfast and be ready for a fun-filled day. The day begins with a half-day tour starting with the Indian Institute Of Advanced Studies. At an altitude of 1983 Mts, this great marvel of English architecture was earlier a Vice Regal Lodge. By evening you would be free to take a leisurely stroll at the famous “The Mall & The Ridge”. These area offers great views of the open mountainsides and is jostling with life. While you are here do not miss the gothic church and the Tudor library building. Hit the sack back at the hotel and be ready for another fun-filled day.
Day 3: Shimla – Narkanda – Rampur – Sangla
Wake up to a hearty breakfast and be ready to leave for Narkanda. Enroute you can enjoy the palace of Maharajah of Rampur. Explore the beautiful towns and head to the beautiful village of Sangla. While in Sangla enjoy the raw beauty of the place along the Sutlej river. Enjoy the day strolling and recharge yourself for another great day ahead.
Day 4: Sangla Via Ckitkul to Kalpa 2,758 metres / 9,048 feet (40 kms/ 2-3 hrs)
Wake up and eat well. As we would be heading to Chitkul that happens to be the last village on the Indian side of Indo-Tibetan border. Further, we would be heading towards Kalpa village which is 2-3 hrs drive from here. On the way, we would be stopping at Recongpeo where you can take a short stroll around the local market. It’s also the district headquarters of the Kinnaur District. Lunch will be arranged here and you can enjoy the Indo-Tibetan cuisine here. After lunch, we would be reaching Kalpa and that’s where we would be lodging for the day. You can take a stroll at Kalpa Village & Roghi Village. These villages are covered with thick pine vegetation and also have apple orchards. From this place, you can have the finest view of Mt Kinner Kailash which is at an altitude of 6000 Mts.
Day 5: Kalpa To Kaza 3,200 metres/10,500 feet ( 150 kms / 9 hrs)
Early morning just after having breakfast we would be heading to Kaza. (8 AM departure). This is the day when we enter the marvellous Spiti valley. Its a beautiful cold desert of Himalayas. This area owing to heavy snowfall is generally cut off from the rest of the world during winters. Enroute we would be halting ar Gao Village where a 600-year mummy of a monk is present. Later on, we continue our drive to Tabo. On arrival at Tabo, we will visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas. Lunch would be in tabo and followed by a drive to Kaza via Dhankar monastery and Dhanjar fort. We will arrive at Kaza by late evening. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 6: In Kaza
The first place that we visit while in Kaza is the Ki Monastery. It’s almost 12 km from Kaza. This century-old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort.It houses valuable thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 km further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village of the region. Overnight stay at guest house.
Day 7: Kaza – Hikkim – Komik – Langza – Chander Tal
Day 7 will be all about visiting the less seen and traveled places of the region. We would be having a great view of Chau Chau Kang Nelda peak from Langza. Also, we would be going to check out the statue of Buddha near Langza looking down the valley. Tangyud monastery at Komik is one of the most important and the highest monastery in the Spiti Valley which also in our plan. In case you don’t like the hustle an bustle of Kaza then you may choose to move to Losar. Along the way, you can enjoy the scenic drive which takes around 2.5 hours. You can also opt to visit Chandratal via Kunzum pass and enjoy the day there. You can find camps nearby to stay or you can choose to stay at the guest house which unfortunately has no electricity. We suggest the overnight stay at Chandratal to be good.
Day 8: Chandratal – Kunzum Pass – Rohtang Pass – Manali
We would now be heading back to Manali. It will be via Rohtang pass. Enjoy the drive through Battal – Chattru – Gramphu towards Rohtang Pass which is out of the world experience in itself. Overnight stay will be at Manali.
Day 9: Manali – Delhi (570 Kms15/16hrs)
Chill your bones at Manali and stroll around the markets as you still have half-day all to yourself. At the evening you will be dropped off to the bus station from where the bus for Delhi Departs at 4:30. Overnight stay will be arranged in Delhi.
